C Lighting Showroom.
Working with an existing building previously used as an art gallery, creating the new C Lighting showroom as a Lighting Gallery was a natural fit.
The sleek lines of the existing building lent themselves to the contemporary collection of lighting that C displays.
A challenge for me was to incorporate the kitchen displays in the same space for the sister company C Kitchens.
This combination of product displays allowed me to create "home-like" environments that help customers select the right products for their needs.
Instead of grid style electrical ceiling and wall structures for display, each fixture was given its own junction box to minimize visual noise. This makes each fixture look its best and sell better.
As you can see from my sketches and renderings, the contemporary feel of the showroom is a wonderful backdrop for all of the sleek lighting fixtures from colorful pendants and classic chandeliers to iconic table lamps and modern track systems.
Having worked with lighting retail for 4 years at the beginning of this project, I used the information gathered from past customers as a guide to this design.
In general, customers would gravitate to certain trends in lighting as well as particular fixtures. I also learned what kinds of problems customers expressed with typical lighting stores.
Upon it's grand opening, C Lighting was voted best Lighting Store in Atlanta by Atlanta Magazine in 2005.
